Death to sugar ants
Today started off the same as most others do in that I dragged my size 12 butt out of my way past mediocre twin bed, brushed away the caked up eyeliner from the corners of baby browns and shuffled to the kitchen. It was there that I discovered a small army of sugar ants organized in cadence fashion marching from stove to fridge. Too tired to give a crap why this militia of ants had staged a march in, I swung open my refrigerator door. I smirked at the sight of those tiny black specks frantically running about. Suddenly, it was every little ant for themselves as they scattered to find refuge under counter tops and tile cracks. Sadly, my victory was short lived as I tossed my green tea back in the icebox and made my way to the bathroom to brush my teeth. It was there that I was fully thrust from my sleepy stooper. As I placed a more than the dentist recommended amount of fresh mint paste on my toothbrush there he was...all huge and furry, grasping at the slick edges of the sink...A SPIDER! It was in that moment I waved a white flag in surrender. Bugs 1, SV 0.

Movin on Up :)
Hey Everyone!
I have crawled out from under my rock! :) Life has been a bit of a roller coaster these past few weeks as I continue my quest to join the work force. I'm happy to report that I recently was granted a contact to work part time at the community college where I've been interning over the last few months. I couldn't be happier. I love my job! I've moved up in the world. Once an intern now I'm an event organizer. I'm having a blast. Going back to work hasn't left much time for writing, blogging, or reading. That said, I hope to return to the Ave soon. Stay tuned!

relocated and "unfriended" what a week...
Hello Readers,
I'm back. It's amazing the things that change in just a few short weeks. As the new year dawned I found myself unexpectedly moving to a new place(which is awesome btw). I also am down a friend on the world's favorite social network. Sad but true I was recently "unfriended" by someone. When I logged onto facebook a couple of days ago I discovered I was no longer "friends" with a person I once felt was a pretty good friend. However, all I could really do upon making this discovery was laugh and say, "Are you(insert Fbomb) kidding me?" Who does that? Really? Is that what we have come to as a society? Sadly, yes. Can't we all just grow up and get along?
Stay Tuned and Take Care.

Week 2: jobless and bloated
Dearest Readers,
Today I find myself in a lull. I'm not so much bored as I am unmotivated. It is the start of a new work work and I have no where I am required to be. For some this would be viewed as a blessing, but for me I am finding that because I am no longer on a schedule it has become harder to stay focused. Don't get me wrong people I love the down time, but as of late I've spent far too much of my free time wasteful snacking and watching repeats of Law and Order: SVU. Today's to do lists: review updated job listings, do the breakfast dishes, say no to the remote which beckons me from my bedroom, and drink a gallon of water in hopes of feeling much less like a water buffalo.
Wish me luck.

Hello 2011!
Morning All,
On the heels of millions who vow to this new year to get fit, get rich or die tryin' I resolve to do neither one. I mean yes I have plans to get back to the gym and by all means eat less fast food opting for more healthy choices. And who doesn't want to make more money. The truth is this year I just want to work on being a better me. I want to take more time out for family and friends and less time sweating the small stuff. I am thankful to all those around me who helped me get through the chaotic hell that was 2010, not saying it was awful but I found that throughout most of it I was in survival mode. I didn't find much time to read a book unless it was required, and honestly I can barely recall any of the happenings or cliff hangers of some of my favorite shows except Dexter and Weeds. Those are two of best shows on TV. I didn't do much of anything that truly mattered, except finish school. I know that's awesome, but I don't remember hardly any of the past year which means I wasted the last 12 months not living life. Instead I became over run with things that in the end don't really matter for the most part. On the work front I haven't found anything yet, but there has been some life progress in recent hours. Within a few weeks I'm going to be moving into a new place that will put me in a better location to scout out prospects. This year I hope to do more traveling, and reconnect with people I haven't seen in a while. I also hope to spend a little more down time at home enjoying the simple things. Whatever it is you resolve to chance this year I wish you all the best, but remember to be realistic as most New Year's resolutions go belly up within the first 30 days even though they were forged with the best of intentions.

Help! I'm addicted to Comet, Kit Kat's and Toilet Paper
Dear Readers,
OMG! What a world we live in. Just when you though reality TV had done it all. In swoops TLC to prove we all love to see others struggle. Last night I shut down my laptop early just so I could catch the premiere of the new TLC show Strange Addictions. When they said strange addictions they weren't kidding. One of the first women profiled on the show that is addicted to eating toilet paper, nearly 150 sheets per day. She even consumed her 2ply snack while out to lunch with her sister. Turns out she has been eating TP since she was a child. Just like any other addict she failed to see the seriousness of her addiction even after a healthcare professional warned her that her snack attacks could prove fatal. The second story I found to be less interesting, it profiled a woman in her early thirties who is addicted to sleeping with her hair dyer, strange but true. She however by the shows end showed promise of halting her foolish ways. The second episode for me was less appealing in fact I found it be a tad moronic. The first woman is a professional body builder who claims she's addicted to her workouts at the gym. I would have to agree spending six hours a day pumping iron is a bit extreme but stranger things have happened. As for the girl who is 24 and addicted to sucking her thumb I say good luck being taken seriously on Wall Street. Give up the thumb, perhaps try a Jolly Rancher. The boys are more likely to kiss you goodnight if you smell more like green apple and less like a spit soaked baby blanket. I can't wait until next week, the woman being profiled is addicted to eating household cleaners. Get the popcorn ready and tune in.
PS For the record I am currently seeking help for my addiction to Kit Kat bars.
